Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free 1:1 substitute)
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar (packed)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk (whole or almond milk for dairy-free option)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted (or plant-based butter)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Cinnamon-Sugar Topping:
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (for drizzling)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and Prepare the Baking Dish
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
Step 2: Make the Cobbler Batter
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Pour in milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, stirring gently until smooth. Do not overmix.
Step 3: Assemble the Cobbler
- Pour the batter into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the topping.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the batter.
- Drizzle melted butter over the top to create a caramelized crust while baking.
Step 4: Bake to Perfection
- Bake for 35–40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cobbler sit for 10 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Step 5: Serve and Enjoy!
Scoop out a warm serving and top it with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce for the ultimate treat.
